Signs of Solidarity
Across the country, ICE agents are entering small businesses without warrants — detaining workers, frightening customers, and spreading fear in our communities. These raids often happen without warning, carried out by masked agents in plain clothes with no visible identification.
We can’t let intimidation take root. As a business owner, you have the power to protect your employees and customers — and to send a clear message: immigrants are welcome here, and our community stands united against harassment.
Join Businesses Standing with Their Communities
You have the power to protect your employees and customers — and to send a clear, public message that your business will not be a place of intimidation.
Signs of Solidarity is a nationwide effort to help local businesses take simple, legal, and visible steps to:
Protect workers
by clearly designating private employee-only areas where ICE cannot enter without a judicial warrant.
Show public support
for immigrant neighbors through bold, visible window or door signs.
This program was developed in partnership with immigration law experts and seasoned organizers, ensuring that every step is both effective and lawful.
How It Works
Post a Private Area Sign
Mark employee-only spaces (kitchens, break rooms, storage areas) to create clear legal boundaries that ICE cannot cross without a judicial warrant.
Display a Public Sign
Choose a poster for your front window or door declaring “ICE Is Not Welcome Here” or “We Support Immigrant Families.”
Join a Growing Network
By participating, you’ll be part of a visible, collective stand against fear and intimidation.
What You do Matters
When you put up a Signs of Solidarity poster, you’re doing two important things:
Making Your Workplace Safer – By designating a private, employees-only area, you exercise your Fourth Amendment rights. ICE cannot enter without a signed judicial warrant.
Sending a Public Message of Support – Posting a visible sign in your window or door tells neighbors, customers, and other businesses that you reject fear and stand for dignity, safety, and inclusion.
When many businesses take this step together, the impact is powerful. Courage is contagious — your sign may inspire others to do the same.
